Make Do Farm's name is inspired by the saying "waste not, want not, make do or do without."
Ari fell in love with growing food at the Middlebury College Organic Farm (now the Knoll). She has grown organic veggies, driven draft horses on a historic educational farm, gentled mustangs, hand raised orphan calves and ranched in the Oglala Lakota homelands, with lots of homesteading and farmsitting too. After years of trying to buy land to grow on, Chris and Julie from Highfields Farm reached out via Vermont Land Link with an opportunity for farm succession. Ari and Matt moved to the beautiful farm in October 2024.
Matt is the culinary visionary who turns the farm fresh produce and meat into incredible meals. Inspired by a fantastic Greek yogurt from a corner store near where Matt lived in Cambridge, MA, we hope to someday offer sheepsmilk yogurt, cheese and frozen yogurt. In the meantime, you can find us at the Randolph Farmer's Market selling fresh produce, lamb and mutton, Matt's pickles and sauces and Ari's gluten free baked goods (she's celiac).
